In accordance with the Anti Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (AML/CFT Act), some related parties may be required to verify their identity, including details such as their full name, date of birth, and residential address. The verification process is completed through a secure mobile experience and takes only a few minutes.

What you need:

  • Smartphone with a camera

  • A valid driver’s license or passport

  • Your device’s camera enabled in the browser

Tips for a smooth process:

  • Make sure you are in a well lit area for the selfie

  • Ensure your identity document is clearly visible

  • Avoid glare, obstructions, or blurry images

  • Remove hats, sunglasses, or anything that covers your face

How to Begin Verification

You will receive both an email and a text message with a link.

The verification process must be completed on your mobile device.

Follow the link to begin.

Step 1: Provide Your Basic Information

You may be asked to confirm your basic details, including:

  • Your full legal name

  • Your date of birth

  • Your current residential address

Once entered, select Submit to continue.

Step 2: Confirm Consent for Biometric Verification

You will be shown a page explaining:

  • Why your identity needs to be verified

  • That biometric verification will compare your selfie to your identity document

  • That your data is securely processed by Caruso Software Limited and Onfido

Tick the box to consent to the processing and storage of biometric data, then continue.

Step 3: Start Identity Verification

You will see a screen prompting you to begin the verification process.
Select Start verification to proceed.

Step 4: Continue on Your Phone

You will be asked to complete the verification on your mobile device. Select Get secure link to generate the link.

You will be offered two options:

  • Scan a QR code using your phone

  • Copy a secure link and open it on your mobile device

Opening this link will begin the identity capture process on your phone.

Step 5: Keep the Browser Window Open

Once your mobile device is connected:

  • Keep the original browser window open

  • Do not refresh the page

  • Your mobile link will remain valid for one hour

You will be automatically moved to the next step once mobile verification is complete.

Step 6: Capture Your Identity Document

On your mobile device:

  • Select the issuing country

  • Choose your document type (passport or driver’s licence)

  • Follow the instructions to take a clear photo of the document

Ensure that:

  • The full document is visible

  • There is no glare

  • All text is readable

Step 7: Capture a Selfie

Next, you will be prompted to take a selfie.

  • Centre your face within the outline

  • Ensure the space is well lit

  • Remove glasses if necessary

  • Review the selfie before submitting

Step 8: Verify Your Address

After completing your identity verification, you will be prompted to verify your physical residential address. Financial regulations require us to confirm your current address using an acceptable proof of address document. You will see a page asking you to:

Confirm your current residential address

  • If the address displayed is incorrect, select Enter address manually to update it.

Upload a valid proof of address document, you can either:

  • Drag and drop a file into the upload area
    or

  • Click Choose a file to select a document from your device

Accepted documents commonly include:

  • A utility bill

  • A bank statement

  • A rates invoice

  • An insurance statement

  • Any official document showing your full name and residential address

The document must be:

  • Clear and legible

  • Recently issued (usually within the last 3 months)

Once uploaded, select Submit to complete your address verification.

Step 9: Submission Complete

After you have submitted your identity and address information, your details will be securely verified using Onfido’s identity verification technology.

This process includes:

  • Cross checking your identity document with your selfie

  • Running fraud and authenticity checks

  • Confirming your information in line with AML/CFT Act requirements

Once verification is complete:

  • The result will be securely shared with your fund manager who will be in contact if further information is required.

If Your Identity Cannot Be Verified

In some cases, biometric verification may fail. This is usually caused by:

  • Low lighting

  • A blurry selfie

  • A dirty or obstructed camera lens

  • A document image that is unclear

If this happens, you will see a email advising: “We could not verify your identity.” You will be prompted to retry the process by selecting Retry identity verification. We recommend:

  • Cleaning your phone camera

  • Ensuring good, even lighting

  • Holding your phone steady

  • Retaking the photo or selfie if unclear
