Setting Up Electronic ID Verification (EIV) for Your Investor Portal

Complete GBG onboarding forms

S
Written by Sophie Andre

To enable Electronic ID Verification on your investor portal, you will need to complete two onboarding forms with GBG, Caruso's EIV partner. These cover your GBG service contract, the DIA application (NZ passports, birth and citizenship certificates), and the DVS application (Australian passports and driver's licenses).

Allow up to three weeks for this process, we recommend starting early.

Step 1: Complete the GBG Services Form

  • Submit the GBG services form to register for the GBG service.

  • Once submitted, GBG will send an acknowledgement email and a copy of the form to the user who completed it. Keep this for your records.

Important to note: You will be asked to provide your company's Privacy Policy (a URL or document to upload). This is a DIA requirement. Have it ready before you start, as GBG will request this if not provided and this will delay activation.

Step 2: Complete the DVS Onboarding Form

  • After completing Step 1, submit the DVS onboarding form.

  • Once completed, a DVS Participation Agreement will then be sent directly to you for review and signing. This agreement is required to enable verification of Australian identity documents (passports and driver's licenses) against the relevant government databases. Once you receive it, review, sign, and return it promptly as this is what triggers GBG to proceed with your application.

โš ๏ธ Important: Fields to Complete Carefully

Two fields on the DVS onboarding form are commonly completed incorrectly and can significantly delay your approval if not filled in as specified below.

  • Type of DVS Registration: Select Business User

Important: Do not select any other registration type. Selecting the wrong option will result in your application being rejected and will require you to resubmit.

  • Gateway Service Provider: Select Verifi Identity Services.

Important: Selecting a different Gateway Service Provider means your account will not link to Caruso's integration and your setup will not proceed correctly.

Other Fields to Note

  • Document Types: Select both Passports and Driver's Licenses. Investors will have the option to upload either document for verification.

  • Estimated Number of Documents: If asked for an annual estimate, this is for GBG's internal purposes only. Going over the figure will not affect your account.

What Happens Next

Once both forms are submitted and signed, GBG will:

  • Prepare and lodge your DIA application (for NZ identity document verification)

  • Prepare and lodge your DVS application (for Australian identity document verification)

  • Provide your countersigned contract

  • Create your GBG account

When approvals are received from the DIA and DVS, GBG will send your credentials to Caruso.

Note: DVS approval can take up to three weeks. Starting the process early ensures there are no delays to your go-live.
