Understanding Units and Dates on Distribution Statements

What the As At date and Units Held mean on your distribution statement and payment notice, and how they are worked out.

Written by Rupin Kulkarni

Your distribution statement and Distribution Payment Notice now show the units your distribution was based on, and the date those units were counted. This article explains what you are seeing.

What you will see

Every distribution on your Investor Distribution Summary Statement shows two extra details:

  • As At: the date your units were counted for the distribution.

  • Units Held: the number of units you held on that date.

Your Distribution Payment Notice shows the same units and date, together with your unit value and total holding value as at that date.

How the As At date is set

  • If the distribution uses a record date, As At is that record date.

  • If it does not, As At is the last day of the distribution period.

The columns are always headed As At and Units Held, so a period end date is never mistaken for a record date.

When the figures are set

Your units and unit value are read from the register when the distribution is calculated, and are locked when the distribution is confirmed. They do not change afterwards, even if your holding later changes. They are shown for your information and do not change how your distribution was worked out.

If your distribution was reinvested

For how a reinvested distribution is turned into units, see Understanding Your Reinvested Distribution.
