Investor Portal guide to creating applications

Written by Fahim Kaidawala

You can create an applications directly in the Investor Portal by following these steps.

Step 1: Access the Investment

  • Log in to the investor portal

  • Click Apply Now on the investment opportunity you wish to explore.

Note: The Apply Now option may not always be available, depending on how the fund manager has set up the investment. If you do not see this option, please contact your fund manager for assistance.

Step 2: Review the Investment Details

  • On the investment page you can view:

    • An overview of the investment

    • A short summary

    • Offer documents (if available)

  • On the right-hand side, you will see a box with:

    • Fund name

    • Minimum investment required

    • Price per unit

  • Click Invest to continue.

Note: If you are applying as an adviser, you may see a Start Multiple Applications option instead, which lets you apply for several investing entities at once against the same offer.

Step 3: Select Your Investing Entity

  • Choose the investing entity you wish to use.

  • Click Continue.

Note: If you set up a new investing entity here, you will also be asked for entity details, Tax Details, and Nature & Purpose information. If your investing entity already has this on file, you may only need to confirm it.

Step 4: Confirm Your Investor Status

  • Declare whether you are applying as a Wholesale or Retail investor.

  • Indicate whether you are being advised on this application, and provide your adviser's email address if so.

Note: This step does not apply if you are applying as an adviser on behalf of a client.

Step 5: Add or Confirm a Bank Account

  • Enter your bank account details, or select an existing account linked to your investing entity.

  • Depending on your fund manager's settings, you may also be asked to upload a document to verify the account, such as a bank-encoded deposit slip, a verification letter, or a printed copy of your account details.

Note: A new bank account is reviewed by your fund manager before it is verified. You can continue with your application while this is pending.

Step 6: Upload Supporting Documents (Optional)

  • You may be given the option to upload supporting documents for your investing entity, such as wholesale certificates, certified ID copies, or company statements.

  • This step can be skipped. If you skip it, you can provide these documents to your fund manager later.

Step 7: Enter Your Investment Amount

  • Enter the amount you wish to invest.

Note: The minimum investment field indicates the lowest amount required for this investment. If you enter less than the minimum, you will see a message such as:
“The minimum amount per investment is NZD [amount].”

  • To continue, you’ll need to download the offer document first.

  • Click Continue.

Step 8: Choose Your Distribution Preference

If the fund manager has enabled distribution reinvestment on the capital raise, you will see a Distribution step asking you to confirm your preferred method for receiving distributions:

  • Direct Credit (default) - distributions are paid out to your bank account

  • Reinvest - distributions are automatically reinvested into your holding

  • Choose an option and click Continue.

Note: This step only appears when the fund manager has enabled distribution reinvestment on the capital raise. If you do not see it, distributions are paid out as normal.

Step 9: Review, Confirm, and Track

  • Review the investment summary

  • Read and tick the required confirmation checkboxes.

  • Once both checkboxes have been selected, click Confirm to submit your application request.

  • A confirmation message will appear showing that your application has been submitted

  • You will be taken to the Orders section where you can track the status of your application

  • Your fund manager will also be notified and may contact you if further information is required
