Caruso’s distribution management system allows fund managers to create, preview, confirm, and report on distributions, including reinvestments.
Step 1: Create a Distribution
Navigate to Funds and select the fund you wish to distribute from
Click the Distribution tab
Select Create new distribution
Complete the distribution form by entering details such as:
Fund Name
Distribution Period
Payment Date
Rounding Method
Add one or more distribution components, setting:
Unit Class
Apportionment Method (Total Dollar Amount, Annual %, or Cents per Unit)
Input Value
Withholding Tax Option (None, WHT, PIR, or WHT & NWHT)
Type (Income or Capital)
Label: This is a free-text field where you can enter any description you want investors to see on their statements.
Commentary: You can also add in this area to give investors extra context about the distribution. For example:
“Rental income for Q1 2025”
“Capital return following asset sale”
“Special one-off dividend”
Click Save and Continue to proceed
Tip: Use clear and consistent labels so investors can easily understand the nature of each distribution. Commentary is optional, but it helps provide transparency and reduces follow-up queries.
Step 2: Preview the Distribution
Review the draft distribution details, including:
Fund and distribution name
Period covered and payment date
Gross, tax withheld, and net amounts
Reinvestment allocations and holding breakdowns
Download draft reports if required (Calculation Summary, Audit, Reinvestment, Payment File)
Review any alerts (such as missing or unverified bank accounts)
When ready, click Confirm
Step 3: Confirm the Distribution
Review the final confirmation summary, including:
Distribution name, fund, and dates
Gross, tax withheld, and net distribution amounts
Total reinvestment value
Fund unit value
Set notification preferences (email and/or investor portal)
Enter the Publish Date for statements and emails
Review the Date of Issuance for reinvestments and unit issuance
Once checked, click Confirm to finalise the distribution
Step 4: Distribution Outputs
Investors receive:
One consolidated statement with all component breakdowns
One email with the net distribution amount
One transaction record for the net distribution
Reports are generated and available for download (Calculation Summary, Audit, Payment, Reinvestment)
