You can now use the Caruso File Converter tool to easily create the prescribed Inland Revenue (IRD) reporting for IR854.

Note: By filling your IR854 "Investor Certificate PIE Return", the IRD Portal automatically generates the IR853 "Annual Reconciliation PIE Return" which is an aggregate view.

Supported Version

Caruso supports the latest File Upload Specification. Submissions reference version 0005 as specified for periods from 1 April 2020.

Instructions:

  1. Contact Caruso for a custom report detailing the relevant investor information required for PIE Fund Reporting.

  2. On the File Converter section of the Admin App, select the IR854 / IR853 Converter

  3. Upload - Upload the report to transform it into the required IRD format.

Note: The converter will filter for PIE funds and investing entities who earned a distribution during the reporting period. You can choose to include all PIE funds even if no distributions were paid during the reporting period.

  4. Provide IRD numbers for PIE funds - This is required for the IRD submission and is not currently stored on Caruso.

  5. Data preview - The converter gives you a preview of all imported data as well as a filtered view of the PIE investors who will be included in the IRD submission.

    1. Note: the data is filtered on investing entities, in PIE funds who earned a distribution during the reporting period

  6. Download - to generate the files which can be submitted directly to the IRD

  7. Test File - IRD provides a file test facility.
