Caruso's Deposits tool allows you to efficiently match incoming bank transactions with allocation requests. This ensures that investor payments are recorded accurately and allocations are processed smoothly.
Step 1: Convert Your Bank Statement (If Needed)
If your bank exports data in a format different from Caruso’s standard, you’ll need to convert it first.
To convert your file:
In the navigation pane, select File Converter
Select Bank Statement and upload your bank's transaction file
Review the file mapping and update if necessary.
Download the converted deposit reconciliation file.
Step 2: Import Your Bank Statement
In the navigation pane, select Deposits
Upload the converted file
Click Save & Continue
Note: Caruso will automatically exclude negative transactions. The Reconcile feature currently supports deposits only.
Step 3: Match Transactions with Allocation Requests
Imported bank transactions are shown on the left side of the screen. The best matching allocation request, if available, is displayed on the right.
Caruso's matching algorithm assigns a confidence score based on how closely transaction details align with existing allocation data.

High confidence matches are based on:
Transaction field | Caruso field |
Reference / Code / Particulars | Matches the payment reference on an allocation request (this reference is automatically included in payment instructions and consists of the Fund Name, Offer ID, and Allocation Request ID), or matches the payment reference field of an investing entity with a valid allocation request |
Bank Account Number | Matches the bank account number of an investing entity with a valid allocation request (includes fuzzy matching to allow for differences in the suffix) |
Lower confidence matches may be suggested based on:
Transaction field | Caruso field |
Reference / Code / Particulars | Matches the investing entity's customer reference (optional field) |
Bank Account Name | Matches the investing entity's bank account name (includes fuzzy/partial matching) |
Tip: Click the information icon beside a suggestion to view more details about the potential match.
Step 4: Find Alternative Matches (If Needed)
If no suitable match is suggested, or the match appears incorrect:
Click Find & Match
Search using transaction details (bank account number, name, or reference)
Or search by Caruso records, including:
Investing entity name
Investing entity ID
Customer reference
Payment reference
Bank account number
Allocation ID
Click Next once found, or move to Step 5 if you are unable to find the allocation
Step 5: Create an Allocation (If Needed)
If a deposit cannot be matched to an existing allocation request, you can create a new allocation directly from the Deposits screen:
Click Create Allocation
Select the relevant capital raise and investing entity
Enter the number of units
Click Next once ready
The deposit will be matched to the new allocation
Note: Allocations created through the Deposits flow can bypass the offer's minimum and maximum investment limits.
Step 6: Confirm and Apply Payments
Once you have reviewed the match:
Select your action:
Reconcile deposit to record the payment only
Reconcile deposit and issue units to record the payment and issue units in one step
Click Confirm
(Optional) Send an email notification to the investor
Note: You must select an action before confirming. If you choose to issue units, ensure you are ready to proceed as this action sends notifications to the investor.
Tips and Best Practice
You can apply payments for amounts different from the allocation request. This is useful for partial payments or when an investor overpays
To learn more about issuing units as part of deposit reconciliation, see Issuing Units
To review all reconciled payments, download and view the All Deposits report from the Reports section
