Understand how to use the Caruso Outlook add-in

Caruso’s Outlook add-in seamlessly integrates investor communications with your fund management workflow.

You can:

  • Create tasks directly from emails

  • Automatically log correspondence to investor records

  • Delegate follow-ups to team members without leaving your inbox

The add-in recognises investor contacts and lets you assign tasks to compliance, finance, or investor relations teams, maintaining a complete audit trail of all investor interactions in one central location.

Step 1: Install the Caruso Add-in

  • Open Microsoft Outlook and select an email.

  • Click the (•••) button in the top ribbon.

Note: In Outlook for web, a different icon may appear on the email ribbon.

  • Select Get Add-ins.

  • Search for Caruso in the Microsoft Marketplace.

  • Install the Caruso add-in.

Step 2: Sign In to the Add-in

  • Open the Caruso add-in in Outlook

  • Click Sign in with Caruso

  • A pop-up will appear — sign in using your Caruso Admin Application email and password

  • Complete two-factor authentication using your authenticator app

Once signed in, the add-in will remain available in your Outlook side pane.

Note: Your session may occasionally expire, requiring you to sign in again.


Step 3: Create a Task from an Email

  • With the Caruso add-in open and viewing the relevant email, click Create Task

  • Complete the task fields in the side panel:

    • Task title – Enter a clear, recognisable name

    • Type – Select the task type from the dropdown

    • Priority (optional) – Choose the priority level if needed

    • Assign to team (optional) – Allocate the task to a team

    • Assign to teammate (optional) – Allocate the task to a specific team member

    • Associate with (optional) – Link the task to an investing entity or account

    • Associated account – Search for and select the account if applicable

    • Due date (optional) – Set a deadline for the task

    • Note (optional) – Add extra context or instructions

  • Click Create task to save

The task will:

  • Immediately appear in the Caruso Admin Application

  • Be visible for the assigned team members to view and action

  • Automatically link to the associated investing entity or account profile for easy reference and reporting
