The statements module in Caruso provides flexibility to generate and distribute different investment level statements either for a particular investor, tagged investing entities or create batch statements to share with the entire investor base.
This article provides a broad overview of how you can use Caruso to publish statements to investors.
View Statements
The admin app statements module provides a list of previously generated statements. These represent a 'batch' of statements. You can see how many investing entities were included in each batch.
To create a new statement, select Create statement on the top right of the page.
Create new statement
When creating a new batch of statements, you will be guided through the required fields based on the type of statement that you are creating.
Statement name - This is an internal name. It can help teammates identify what the statement batch is. Investors will see the pre-configured statement names like "Investor Summary Statement".
Target recipients - Based on the statement type, Caruso will guide you to target a suitable group of investors. For example;
For Investor Summary Statements and Investor Distribution Statements, you can target individual investing entities, all investing entities, or filter the target down by investing entity tags.
For Tax Statements, you can target all holdings in a fund
Dates - Based on the selected date range, Caruso will include the relevant investing entities, holdings and transactions that are active or fall within that date range.
Commentary - Commentary is optional. If provided, it will appear at the bottom of the statement.
Provide additional data
If you have selected a statement type that needs additional data which is not held on Caruso, you will be taken to an interim step.
Here you can:
Download data - This will generate a custom dataset including:
The latest Caruso data for all investing entities or holdings for this fund.
The dataset will also have columns that you can populate to enrich Caruso data.
Enrich data - Outside of Caruso, you can reference the read-only data and enrich the dataset by populating the custom columns.
Upload data - Once you have enriched the dataset, you can export your data as a CSV and upload back on Caruso. Caruso will check for two things and return an error if they are detected. This ensures that we can correctly map your custom data in bulk.

Tips:
Caruso will publish the values exactly as you upload them. Please apply any rounding and formatting before uploading.
